About The Creator

Firestone Pottery is a sole proprietorship ceramic art studio located in Wainfleet, Ontario.  All of the items are one of a kind. There are no moulds or casts made to replicate any pieces. Techniques used are wheel throwing or hand slabbing. Particular attention is focused on the refinement of each piece. Beauty, balance and proportion are all key. 

Melinda has always been involved in the arts in one fashion or another; music, theatre, design, marketing, dance, etc. She began her muddy adventure when creating a clay sculpture in a life drawing class while obtaining her Graphic Design diploma in 2005. From there she enrolled for beginner classes at a local pottery studio and fell in love! Over the past 20 years Melinda has been a member of many communal studios & workshops, however, she is mostly self taught. 

The business title originates from her German family name Fetz von Feuerstein and translates to English as Fetz from Firestone. 

Melinda is grateful to be able to follow her dream and have the ability and create functional handmade art for people to enjoy in their daily lives.
